Trial postponed but no date set as Kurdish politicians remain in prison
The main KCK trial in Diyarbakır on 28 May was adjourned to an unspecified date as the court board ruled 152 Kurdish politicians and human rights defenders will remain in jail.
During the trial at Diyarbakır 6th High Criminal Court which was attended by 51 out of 99 jailed politicians, defendants Roza Erdede and Heval Erdemli were denied permission to defend themselves in their mother tongue Kurdish following the reading of accusations against two defendants.
Defense lawyers demanded the exclusion of some evidences from the file, remarking these documents weren’t related to the case.
