DTK co-chair Tuğluk sentenced to 14 years and 7 months in prison

Deputy Tuğluk was sentenced for fourteen separate speeches
Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-Chair and Van deputy Aysel Tuğluk was sentenced to 14 years and 7 months in prison for “making propaganda for an illegal organization” and “committing crime on behalf of an illegal organization despite not being a member of it”. Tuğluk was sued by Diyarbakır 4th High Criminal Court for 14 speeches she made at different dates.
The same accusations were put forward in the case against Independent MP Leyla Zana who was sentenced to ten years in prison on 24 May for nine separate speeches she made in the years 2007-2008.
