One police died in armed attack in Istanbul

One police officer died and one was wounded in an armed attack which targeted police officers in Gaziosmanpaşa district of Istanbul on Saturday.

The attack with long barreled arms was carried out by two persons, one of whom was a woman, reported police after the attack.

Istanbul police authorities said that the attack could be linked to the attack which targeted a police officer in Avcılar district of Istanbul Friday night. The police officer who was seriously wounded in the attack is reported to be in a critical situation.

On the other hand, the Public Order Corps Command in Van was also targeted by an armed attack on Sunday night. Hand grenades were also used in the attack on the Corps Command on the Van-Hakkari way. An operation was launched in the area after the attack.
