Leyla Zana to meet PM Erdoğan
30 June 2012
Meeting to take place today
Independent Kurdish deputy Leyla Zana will meet Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan today to discuss the Kurdish issue.
Zana had said in an interview with Hurriyet she believed the PM would be able to solve the Kurdish issue. The PM and his government jumped on Zana's remarks to point out there is a "split" coming on within the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party). An allegation rejected by the BDP as "wishful thinking". BDP co-chair Gültan Kışanak underlined that the Prime Minister "should stop reading the future and start running the country".
