The Syrian Kurdish Supreme Council has issued a statement to underline its efforts towards a "democratic pluralistic Syria" to be reached "through our peaceful and effective participation in this revolution".
The Syrian Kurdish Supreme Council "reassure you [the international public opinion] that the Kurds in Syria do not pose a threat to the security and safety of the neighboring countries and we do not aim to separate or make a division in the ranks of the Syrian society. What has happened in some Kurdish areas are emergency measures taken in order to preserve civil peace".
